I cannot believe its the last project from the Design team Challenge using the MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE STAMP SET.
It has been enormous fun and I cannot wait to see what my fellow demonstrator and team member, Andrea Parr, has made
I decided to finish with a 3d project and re -scaled an earlier bag I had made, which you can find on my blog.
I really could not leave this challenge without attempting to make a project which had some sort of ship reference and here it is below.
It is a little bag with a closing lid, made from Sahara Sand card stock. The finished size is 4in wide, by 1 3/4 in deep, by 3in high.
I used Bermuda Bay and Pacific Point card stock for my Waves which I made using a 1 inch circle punch and just chopping along every so often - really easy. These were stuck together with dimensionals to give a 3d effect. I then stamped the whale from the Message in a Bottle Stamp set twice, once in Soft Sky and once in Calypso Coral, and fussy cut both out.
I them made a "porthole" from copper foil, using two stitched shapes circles so I got a frame. I had already cut a circle out from my bag in the right size, using one of the circle dies, so the frame fitted perfectly.
I finished with the sentiments from the stamp set, stamped in Calypso Coral ink onto whisper white and hand cut out, and added a banner at the top stamped in the same ink using the heart from the Stamp Set. I then added a few enamel shapes in orange tones and that was it!
Its a really cute project and the 3d waves do not interfere at all with what you put in the bag.
