Happy Crafters Design Team Challenge #2
December 19, 2017
So Project number 2 of the Design Team Challenge using the MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE stamp set. I wanted to get away from a card and do something 3d, but I was really struggling with what type of box or bag to make, and what paper or card stock to use.
I ended up using something I never thought to put with the stamp set in a million years, but I really think it works!
I decided to make a table favour box bag, that could be used at a girls party. The finished size is really quite good at 3in wide, by 2in deep, by 4in high. The little box holds 4 Ferrero Roche chocolates, so good as a little favour, but inexpensive too.
The design is based on the no cut box I made a while ago, but altered so there is a top folding flap. I wanted it to look like both a bag and a box, and found this was the best way to do it.
I used Year of Cheer DSP in the silver and white, which kind of reminds me of an ethereal under the sea vibe. I stamped the little mermaid from the Message in a Bottle stamp set, with pool party ink, and colored her in places with my watercolor pencils, using Island Indigo. I then cut her out using a square stitched shape from the stitched shapes framelits dies.
The sentiments are from the Message in a Bottle stamp set too, stamped onto whisper white and simply hand cut.
To finish I wrapped pool party shimmer ribbon around the top flap, to hold closed.
I really think this little box bag is too cute!
